Käteviä lyhennyksiä on nyt ilmestynyt jo aakkoskombinaatioon GE asti ja seuraava mahdollinen on GF.

 Näitten lyhyitten kombinaatioitten avulla  varianttien seuranta niiden saadessa alalinjoja on sitten mukavaa. Pitää vain pitää käsillä se koodilista.

 Esimerkkinä on   neljä päivää sitten ilmestynyt alalinja FP.1 variantille. Koska kyse on XBB* ryhmästä, tämä on monitoroitavia variantteja.

"FP" alias XBB.1.11.1 .

Se on siis saanut alalinjan.

Mutations on top of FP.1: T27134C > A28858C (N:R195S) > C9487T, A27917T (ORF8:8C)

A27917T changes the ORF8:8 stop codon (TGA) to a Cysteine (TGT), thus functionally restores the truncated ORF8. It'll be interesting to monitor if this restoration of ORF8 will confer any growth (dis)advantage over stock FP.1.
