PERAMIVIR on kokeellinen antiviruslääke, jonka on kehitellyt BioCryst Pharmaceuticals influenssan hoitoon. Se on laillistettu ensiapukäyttöön tietyillä sairaalapotilailla, joilla tiedetään olevan epäilty A H1N1 2009 influenssa.
PERAMIVIR on neuraminidaasi-inhibiittori, joka toimii transitiotilan analogisena neuraminidaasi-estäjänä influenssan neuraminidaasille ja sen takia pystyy estämään uusia viruksia purkautumasta infektoituneista solusita. PERAMIVIRIN kehittelyä ovat tukeneet
US Department of Health and Human Services osana USA:n hallituksen ponnisteluista inlfuenssapandemian uhkaa vastaan.
Tällä lääkkeellä on pitkä historia. Sen tablettimuoto hylättiin, koska biologinen saatavuus siitä oli huono (Johnson and Johnson). Mutta BioCryst Pharmaceuticals kehitteli injisoitavan muodon yhteistyössä E-Korean Green Cross Pharmaceuticals ja Japanin Shionogi Pharmaceuticals yhtiöitten kanssa.
