Kokeellinen rokote tappavaa Ebolavirusta (EBOV) vastaan lie saatavilla jo vuonna 2018 asiantuntijoiden mukaan. Guineassa tehtyjen kokeitten mukaan nyt koostettu uusi rokote antaa 100-prosenttisen suojan tätä tappavaa virusta vastaan . Rokote asetetaan nyt käymään läpin säännönmukaiset kokeet. . Merck valmistaa sitä ja tulevia purkauksia varten valmistaa 300 000 annosta rVSV-ZEBOV rokotetta. GAVI tukee ekonomisesti rokotevarastoa 5 m. dollarilla.
